Pupils are expected to have the basic equipment required in all lessons: a pen, pencil, ruler, eraser and sharpener. Some subjects will require specialist equipment that pupils are expected to have, for example, a calculator in Maths, kit for PE. In other subjects, pupils will be loaned equipment that must be used respectfully and returned at the end of each lesson.
Pupils will be charged for the replacement of exercise books or school equipment that has been lost or damaged. Graffiti of any kind on books or school equipment is not acceptable.
Payment will be requested from the pupil(s) causing the damage to replace or repair the damaged items.
ALL PERSONAL PROPERTY SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE PUPIL’S NAME.
All pupils MUST have an appropriate school bag in which they can carry their belongings without causing damage. They must also have a pen, pencil, rubber, ruler and range of coloured pencils.
FELT-TIP PENS; ‘TIPPEX’ (OR SIMILAR CORRECTION FLUID) ARE NOT TO BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL.
In general, items of value (monetary or sentimental) should not be brought into school. We do not take responsibility for loss of personal belongings whatever the expense. The pupils are responsible for any items which they bring into school. The school will not make any refunds for loss of personal belongings. Claims should be made on parents/carers’ private insurance policies.
Parents are strongly advised to ensure that personal property, including all items of uniform, is clearly marked with the child’s name. Whilst every effort will be made to safeguard property the school cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
