The first week of the summer term has been a really strong start. We welcomed senior colleagues from the Dean Trust into school on Tuesday to undertake a review of the school’s strengths. The team spent the day talking to pupils, talking to staff, visiting lessons and looking at recent parental comments.

Pupils should be proud of the way they presented themselves as real ambassadors of the school and of the wider community. The reviewing team talked in strong terms about the positive behaviours and the attitudes shown by pupils throughout the day. They commented on the high aspirations that the school has and they quoted pupils who spoke highly of their teachers making comments such as “Broadoak is a family.” We will build on this review over the coming weeks.

It is also worthwhile drawing attention to the fact that Year 11 have returned from the Easter break with drive and determination  – attendance has been excellent with the year group achieving 100% attendance on Thursday. The next few weeks are vital for Year 11. The school is open on Saturday for an English revision session
