Programme of Study
- Years 7 and 8 follow Exploring Science on a two year route.
- We then begin teaching the new 1-9 Combined Science Curriculum in Year 9 and Year 10. This involves pupils being taught by specialists in the three Science disciplines for six lessons a week, as well as undergoing Core Practicals which are now part of the new curriculum across the country. Pupils are assessed now at the end of Year 11 via six external GCSE examinations – coursework is no longer a part of the course.
- Please note – our current Year 11 are the last year group to undertake the ‘old style’ A* – GCSE. Set 1 study Triple Science and Sets 2-4 study Core and Additional Science.
